MATILDA
MATILDA WEEK 1
At the start of this week i was introduced to the school song from Matilda, with this song i had to make sure i warmed up my voice up properly as the song could be quite quick with a lot of lyrics. This meant that we done mini mars bars warm up and a tongue twister. We also had to make sure we warmed up our body so we could produce a longer note which meant being able to control our breathing, so to help this we done some breathing exercise where we inhaled for 8 counts and exhaled for 8 counts which slowed our breathing down to allow more air in our lungs. later on in the lesson we split up in groups and learnt the lyrics and then was assigned roles ( i was given a role to be a big kid) whilst we were rehearsing we made sure we knew the lyrics, projected our voices and sung at the right time. At the end of the lesson we performed it to the class to make sure we get more comfortable to perform it and for sam to give us feedback.
During our Tuesday lesson we starting learning the choreography for the school song which was enjoyable to dance. At the start of the lesson we warmed up as usual to make sure we don't pull our muscles, we then split into groups with nadine teaching to half of the class at a time and then went over it to make sure we understood the timings. i personally think i kept in time with only missing a few bits we added on as a group, the only thing to do was then to polish it as a group and make sure we understood were to sing and dance etc. Once again at the end of the lesson we performed the parts we had learnt and got feedback from nadine. Then on fridays lesson we went over the parts we knew and made sure we were familiar with the choreography once again and then started to learn more. For me to make sure i have understood the dance i have and will be practicing the choreography outside of lesson.
