Matilda 2nd week

On the 14th of January we had one practical lesson and one on the 18th. On Monday we focused on singing aspects of our matilda song. this week we warmed up our voices by singing a couple of songs and then stretched our bodies as we were going to practice with the dance as well as singing.

our warm up consisted of singing the scales to warm our voices up, if we didn't do this we could've potentially strained our voices or voice break on a note. After this we done she breathing exercises to control our breathing and lung capacity we done this whilst following the lead of our teacher sam, after these singing exercises sam thought it would be best to go over there school song as a group before splitting into groups.

we split up into our groups and rehearsed our song and dance, we repeatedly rehearsed it till we were familiar with it and then realised we had a lot of time left so learnt the second half or the song which was easy and a good idea as we were working as a group. As i didn't know the song i had to make sure i caught up to the group quickly as most of my group were strong and knew this group.

At the end of rehearsing we went through with what improvements we needed to work on, this included the little kids projection being stronger, group being more confident and sounding more angry as big kids.

18th of January, in this dance lesson we focused on the dancing attributes of the school song, we started the class with going over the song and singing it as a class to warm our vocals up and to remember the song. We then focused on warming our bodies up for dance so we played a game where elle shouted different positions where we had to get into with partners, this consisted of lawn mower, changing the oil, napping and transport i personally enjoyed this game a lot and one twice in a row but sadly loosing the last time.

We split up into to our groups and rehearsed the dance over the lesson and the song with it to make sure we were up to date with the dance. at the end of the lesson we performed it to the other group then made a scene to show the differences between the big kids and lil kids and showed the class what we came up with.

my targets are too learn the new bits of the song and relax my face whilst dancing
